Batman #8 - was a pretty good start to the event. The court of owls finding out Batman's identity is a good place to get the ball rolling and the threat of the murder of 40 people is a great way to get the bat family involved.
Batwing #9 - It was a fine story but it's one of my least favorite parts about events, just being thrown into a story I have no clue about. I really think events should be their own books so that you can just read them and follow the plot. I shouldn't need to read all these random issues to get a full story.
Batman and Robin(2011) #9 - a good tie-in for the court of owls. It picks up right after the call from Alfred in Batman #8. Damien gets to show off his differing methods from Batman and even kills a court of owls assassin (in universe they're considering them dead but come on they're sapient. Damien killed a man)
Batgirl #9 - that was a good standalone issue and probably the best one I've read so far. Barbara is barely a part of it, but the story of the fire balloons and the Japanese school children is really really interesting. I wish it was used on a unique villain and not a court of owls goon.
Batman #9 - It had a cool fight but really felt like filler.
Red Hood and the Outlaws #9 - Jason Todd is so stupid and boring that the court of owls' assassin begs him to kill him. I think red hood is stupid and Jason should have stayed dead.
Nightwing #8 - eh. It's alright. I like nightwing. The backstory for this assassin just wasn't interesting to me.
Nightwing #9 - lmao Grayson was retconned to be his grand papa saying to raise his son as the Gray Son of Gotham. That shit is hilarious. They really truly thought they were cooking there.
All Star Western #9 - I like the western aesthetic, but this was pretty boring.
Detective Comics #9 - a continuation of Batman's story. It doesn't seem like he's close to solving the court of owls problem. Really, it feels like they're meandering the story and making it last as long as possible.
Batman: The Dark Knight #9 - Why are there 3Batman focused books releasing at the same time? (I know why I just think it's stupid)
Birds of Prey #9 - Yawn.
Batman Annual #1 - probably the best comic in this bunch. I think it's a retcon that Mr. Freeze never met Nora before? I liked it though. It better explains his behavior. Had next to nothing to do with the event.
Catwoman #9 - just like the other tie-ins, it was ok. I liked the art in this one the most though.
